This is valuable information for the community, so thank you for bird dogging all this- and posting.

It is gratifying to hear that there may be less "BMW Pixie Dust" than we are always led to believe....

(Hopefully I will never need to, but if I do expect a few PMs for names and numbers of contacts and shops up in your neck of the woods that might be a lead to the same level of skills in the Sacto/Norcal region.)

Finally, being a BMW master tech is a pretty decent job- makes you ask the question: is there something about the shop that your dealer runs to lose that talent? As with every business in this country, there are good employers and bad.... a friend is a master tech and some of the stories he tells...
