I went aftermarket a few years back. I installed a 7" touchscreen Navigation unit. Bought an aftermarket BMW style rear view camera and popped out a license lamp light (shame on me) and ran the RCA up the trim panel. The Camera looks just like other rear view cameras I've seen on BMWs and it almost snapped into place on the liftgate. I chose the right side. Just thought id through in my two cents, as its been a successful install going on about two years running
