Took a pic of the oil cap, definitely had some build up on it. More info on the ccv system? Change pcv valve? Charcoal canister? Only had to deal with a torn pcv boot on my m52 in my e46 that triggered the light, but it didn't eat oil.

Also, with a ccv issue, will I be good to fill it up with oil, keep an eye on it, and fix it when I get back home? I have about 1k miles to go before I get home. If not, how much of an intensive repair is it? Something I can do on the road, away from my garage?
