He needs to relieve himself from those interests. Those are rules and regulations that he is expected to uphold, not to break - many USG employees lost their clearances for opening a local bank account at their overseas post, and those accounts probably did not amount to millions of bucks... Now, that he has won the Electoral College, he has to submit to many rules - he is not king, he is a Top Employee of the public.
And, if he keeps his interests, how do I know that his position on India/Pakistan is not influenced by his interests in India? Or, his position on the Panama canal is not affected by his Trump buildings in Panama City?... More questions than answers...
