That tape player may change things - not sure I've seen anything about adding the aux. input to the tape player head unit.

The Business and Professional CD player units (in the dash) actually house the electronics for the stereo amplifier etc. (on cars with no DSP) and this is why the aux. input connects into the back of the in-dash CD Player - these units have an aux. input.

I'll look into the wiring diagrams and see if I can determine if the in-dash head unit with a tape player is the same.
