I am pretty sure that both WD40 and silicone will do more harm to whatever wardrobe you chose to wear when driving, than you would like.

I will be going the 'scrub with natural soap/cleaner'-way myself. It seems a lot more reasonable to remove the unwanted gunk from the seat belt, than to add more stuff.
