So I guess as an independent, the million dollar question is did you vote lesser of two evils, did you vote out of fear out of the other candidate, did you vote someone third party, did you stay home, or did you write in?
I'm also non party affiliated and I don't want this to become an election ramble (although all our threads tend to be which I'm ok with), but I'm curious. I talked to a LOT of voters who apparently were staunch Bush era Republicans, telling me they HAD to vote for Hillary because they were in FEAR of Trump - literal FEAR. I was not in FEAR of Hillary, and unlike many others around me were not telling people they were voting for her out of fear of someone else - I decided that I could get by on "results may vary" for 4 years, and give him the chance to do some good - and if the Republicans pussyfoot around for another 4 years and nothing gets better or changed, then I would probably stay home for re-election.
Fear is very powerful, hence why I am currently reading this book as both sides exploit our fears (hence why you saw so many NRA ads talking about confiscation if Hillary came into office, the left always uses fear of overturning Roe v Wade, etc)
