Hi,

My steering angle sensor was throwing an error, so I replaced it.

I scanned it using BMW Scanner 1.4.0 and was struggling to work out how to update the VIN as it was giving a LEW error of 'Wrong LWS-ID' (I have since found out how to fix this, although think I have now gone too far down the wrong path).

I plugged the old sensor back in, clicked Read EEPROM......plugged the new sensor back in and hit Write EEPROM. I don't think this was the right thing to do, as it just copied the old sensor details over to the new one, rather than updating the new one......too late to unwind now.

I am now getting a new error 'LWS-maximum exceeded' and it seems to be when I try to calibrate the sensor or turn the wheel too far. It can clear the codes and it goes away until I turn the wheel too far again.

Any tips would be appreciated.
