Save yourself the $7500 and enjoy the vehicle. $2500 for an extra year of coverage isn't worth it. Maintenance plans are money makers for dealerships. For a fraction of the cost you can replace all the brakes, perform regular oil changes, replace filters and of course get some spare wiper blades. If you research, you'll find that you should be able to get all the parts for the front and rear brakes for around $600 for OE parts. The rest is pretty cheap in comparison so that's why it's not worth it. As for the tire protection package, again a money maker for the dealership. For the cost of that protection you could pretty much buy two sets of Continental DWS which will make your X5 feel so much better. My opinion is to ditch the Run Flats when it's time, it makes a world of difference.
This is all just my opinion but I think most here will agree.
By any chance is the dealership you are working with owned by Penske? Reason I ask is because they have their own BMW warranty programs that a couple of my friends have taken advantage of for a pretty low cost. I'm not much of a warranty guy so unfortunately I don't have any additional info to share on their options.
