window noises after slamming door whilst window in down position

Happy new year to all, well drivers side been working and making funny noises when winding up or down for as long as I remember, always seemed to make more worrying noises if I slammed shut the door whilst the window was in the down position, subsequently when winding back up I can only describe the noise as a cracking noise. This would always subside in time….

Well today I had the window down about an inch, slammed door shut(forgot this was bad), then on winding window down it started to make a noise as if glass was snagging on rubber…..in my wisdom only thing I had handy was some GT85 lubricant with ptfe (bike stuff) and 2 squirts along bottom length of outer trim whilst window closed and also at 90 degrees side of door where the glass runs through the rubber seal…seems to have helped greatly…..anyone had any experience with this window issue and if there any other preferable lube I should have shot down there in the window crevice? suffice to say many will point be in the direction a new winding mechanism or clips that attach to it but for now any input much appreciate yet again.
