unnecessarily so, indeed. also interesting to note that a number of his comments on this site employ ad hominem attacks in lieu of basically any kind of sensible contribution.

maybe to US auto makers it's not a big deal but for a global manufacturer that prides itself on their oft-touted "efficient dynamics", decades of research into alternative fuels and the oh-so-green i line of vehicles it would only be prudent to not include functions that are, in fact, not even legal in many countries their vehicles are sold in. again, whether or not i agree with it makes absolutely no odds. that means in no way that i'm either defending or criticising the move. in fact, i don't even *know* if that's the actual reason. obviously there are always some hicks around who equate a mere mention of the environment as some kind of commie sh*t and then act out in a rather immature fashion. i don't think it requires anymore finger pointing to highlight who these people are.

on top of that: if it's too much or too expensive to own and maintain a BMW, there are plenty of cheaper alternatives available. as pointed out before: chevrolet offers remote start in their vehicles. no-one is forced to drive one of these (according to some on here) worst cars BMW has made in a hundred years. go buy a damn ford or whatever.
