From the reviews it looks like these speakers are well regarded by the BMW community. It might just be an alternative. The warranty looks good to and it appears to be a pretty efficient driver at 91. I think the JL are 92 or 93. Good find RB. From my experience I really like the JLs and works well with the X5 DSP. I cannot speak for the Dayton speakers but you might want to inquire from some of the other bimmer 3 series enthusiasts that have these speakers in their BMW.
