I am under the impression that this will require ditching DSP, but I am getting more and more confident that I don't care ab that. Function and form are my primary goals.
I've used the Torque application to connect via bluetooth with my OBDII reader that I've had for ab 5 years. If that function, including the auto upload features, were part of my head unit, I can totally see not worrying ab the OBC data. The OBDII connection provides all the data that the OBC does and a lot, lot more.
I am anxious to see how this works our for the E53 as well.

Way to go Prop!
I have a 2014 vintage Eonon GM5150 (Win CE) in my E46 w/Factory Nav and love it. Got all the little bugs out of it and have a rear camera on it. BTW don't forget to change your factory fuse to a 15 amp because IIRC, the original is only 5 amps and in enjoyment mode, you could blow past the 5 amps. The Eonons are fitted with 15 amp fuses IIRC.
I have Dash Command on my phone and it was/is so-so IMHO, and am anxious to see how that will show on the new GA6166 in my E53. If Torque is a better option I'll gladly go with that.
