Hey Guys, i am new around here.
Also very new in the world of the X5.I find it a very nice an confortable car but electronically with a few problems.

So here is my problem;

I have bought the car with a Handbrake malfunction.Previous owner had his handbrake blocked and could not move the car anymore,he had no idea that bmw has a small hammer in the boot that is used to manually release the handbrake in case that something like this happens.

Took the module out, installed new cables and checked that everything is oke in the handbrake module, reinstalled it, but no luck.
I had a look with ISTA-D and i'm getting the error. Emergency handbrake release detected.And cannot work around this.

If i have the car in D and i let it gently roll in front and in the same time i pull the inside handbrake button the car stops...but as soon as i release the button it starts rolling again.

So if my understanding is good, the handbrake is working but will not stay on.

Did anybody had such an experience ? Would appreciate some feedback.
