Did you perform the proper reset procedure after the emergency release ?
If not do this:
Car in park
Ignition on in position 2
Foot hard on foot brake throughout.
Press parking brake switch DOWN and hold for 30 seconds
Lift parking brake switch UP and hold for 30 seconds
