@ $5000, you should be okay so long as you have a $2000-3000 cushion to bring things up to spec. Usual used BMW purchase strategy really.

Touche. You're very right, my 4.8is purchase was a purchase of the heart much less than a purchase of the head. Made all the traditional car buying mistakes. Bought sight unseen, paid before even seeing the car, trusted it would make it 2000 miles home, lol and the list goes on. I saw all the Dinan stuff and the imola red and got blinded to reason.
