Good day all!!

I must say, most of the comments in this thread had me rolling with laughter!! I love it!!

I have never owned an M5, but I'm on my third 540i/6... Tweaked with tasteful mods to compete with the best...

I also own a 2002 4.6is... And a 2004 4.4L that I rebuilt from the ground up... Pulled-the-crank-from-the-block kind of rebuild... It was interesting... Today, it is stout and smooth... I am currently faced with the same issue with my 2006 4.4L, but it might be beyond rebuild...

Currently owning these vehicles, I would pick the 4.6is or a PFL 4.4L... I should have gotten the 2003 4.4L that was on craigslist instead of the 2006... Just because parts are more readily available... I do not like the automatic transmission on either version X5... Although the 4.6L is tuned really well... Even my better half likes it cause it responds when she needs it...

I don't like the automatic so much that I have taken on the chore of pulling it in favor of the manual we have in our E39's... I have to finish the 2006 before I can start on the conversion, so says the better half... BUT, after I'm done, I think I will have BEST of the E53 and E39 combined!! I can't wait!!
