Thank you all for the suggestions. I think I would like to keep it in the location of the right-center vent to stay out of line of sight while driving but easy enough to see if using NAV on the cell phone.

This is the holder I am using from my last vehicle until a replacement is found. I like the way it cradles the phone because it is easy to get in/out and does not block the buttons. For this vehicle I just don't want to continue giving up the accessory outlet and it doesn't sit high enough to allow easy use of the cup holder.

basilray - I hadn't considered a vent mount holder simply because it doesn't sound sturdy. They are a lot cheaper to just try though. I probably won't go with a magnetic style just because I don't want anything on my phone - it's big enough as-is.

I'm considering ordering this holder to try, it would be vent mount but utilize the style cradle that I like.
