X5 E70 Oil Condition Sensor & IBS errors

Hi there, I have a 2010 BMW X5 E70 4.8i that just recently started showing an Oil Level Sensor Malfunction in the idrive display.
Oil level is not being measured, it says measurement inactive (greyed out).

I've been reading that it may be related to battery/alternator issues as well.

I have an Autel MD802 scanner and received the following codes:

2EA0 Oil Condition Sensor
2EB8 no bsd message from ibs
2EBC no bsd message from oil condition sensor
2EBD no bsd message from alternator

So my question is before I simply go ahead and change out the oil level sensor ($300Cdn) is there a way to tell if it could be voltage-related (ie. not enough voltage causing sensor issues)??
I always check my oil via dipstick anyway and change regularly.

The battery (not sure which kind) has been replaced 6 months ago by the independent dealer where I purchased this car 2nd hand (at that time was receiving High battery drain type issues so he replaced).

He says he registered it but I'm not sure and have no way of knowing.

Just looking for next steps so I don't spend money unnecessarily.
Is it really just an oil sensor code or something more ??

Thanks in advance for looking and all your help.
Peter
