Limited ownership? I did it for 7+ years on one vehicle, and 5 years on another. 1.5 years on the 4.8is so far.

And yes, I can feel the difference between 10w30 and 10w50 + Lucas Additive. That stuff is as thick as the motor honey I use to rebuild cylinder heads. Takes forever to pour into an engine. And it's throttle response more than power, should have clarified I suppose. I can also feel the difference between fresh oil and 6000 mile oil, but I'm sure you'll dispute that too.

Hey, you do your thing on your engines. The OP asked a question, I gave a suggestion based on experience with lots of different BMW engines, and the specific engine asked about. OP can decide to do whatever he/she decides.
