Ummm... I took auto mechanics in high school... It actually took up half my day my senior year... "Most Outstanding Student" awarded by my teacher... Does that count as schooling? I never went to an actual trade school to be an automotive technician... I decided to get my ASE Cert a couple years back... I signed up for the tests and passed them all without doing any practice tests... I have my ASE Master Certification and don't even use it... I think it might be in the DNA...

You must be a natural. One day I hope to be at your level. I only started a few years ago and will be swapping a manual transmission on my auto e46 xi in a couple of years. Even if it takes me a 100 hours it will be worth it for the experience. Good job.
