It was time for a visit to my friendly service writer at Autobahn for an oil change (M series for the summer), rear pad install and brake fluid flush. He kindly noted seepage at the oil pan and rear main and offered to repair . Can't quite justify spending twice the vehicle's value , but he understands .

An extra six thousand miles of boat towing on this set of brakes knocked about thirty thousand miles off the life of the rear pads compared to the front. First set of Akebonos went 163,000 miles at 2.5mm remaining, but this pair of rears only made it 110,000 at 3.0mm. At least the rotors still don't show any wear.
