i purchased the door panel removal tool from Western Auto.

i've since removed all of the mid-bass speakers and installed the MB Quart's.
when removing the factory speakers, the glue holding them in isn't really all
that strong. the key is, there are 2 notches on the enclosure holding the
speaker in place. what i did was, take an exacto/razor blade and run it along
the outside of the speaker between the enclosure. once i did that, i took
2 small flat head's and plced the on both sides of this notch. w/ a little pressure,
i was able to lift the speaker out and over the notch. by doing this, it made it much
easier to remove the speaker. another hint, cut the 2 wires that are soldered to the spade
terminals prior to trying to push the speaker thru the enclosure. be careful not to bend those spade
terminals.

i'm waiting to get my hands on a glue gun or some black silicone to finish up the mid-bass speakers.
as for the rear tweeters, the directions call for gluing them in also; however, i may try something different.
i'm thinking of making a a circular ring the same size as the factory tweeter and sealing the new tweeter
to that ring vs. gluing the tweeter to the oem housing. this ring would slide and lock in place just like the oem
housing. wish me luck....
