I have exactly the same thoughts - 3 years ago there were some major road alterations by us and even though I bought the 2005-2 map DVD, they were never reflected. I contacted Navteq and had a very terse reply saying their mapping data was totally up to date but whether the info was on the current disk depended on whether BMW had purchased the rights to the latest data!!!

So, I would want to 'borrow' a copy to check that these changes are on the disk - it also has my house in TWO locations about 3 miles apart, and depending on which direction I travel home to, depends which one is selected (always the closest to the route I am driving)!

For £200 its a bloody rip off really if BMW don't use the very latest data. Seems a bit of a money-making scheme just to get people to fork out for a new disk. Does anyone know what the changes were between 2005-1 and 2005-2?
