My post was intended to give OP full prospective on what it takes whether he can or cannot DIY. I watched your video and added to my favorite list of DIY. Someone else will look for the same advice and they will value both prospective to make the right decision for themselves.

The repair I shared in my earlier post was covered by warranty while I was at work or feeding and spending quality time with the kiddos at home.

Overtime I learned that BMW is a business like others and most customers are not like you and I. They sell the convenience and it comes with a cost like many other things. That's why some people will pay $15 for a salad they could have purchased themselves for $2 (maybe $5 with the other ingredients). I jumped off the bandwagon of dealership hating and deal with them only when the money makes sense and I'm very good at that. I have done and continue to DIY, but I agree that with two babies and a wife working full time I have to multitask or pay for the service (dealer or Indy). My oldest who is 4 yo now have the mechanic vocabulary of a teenager and I'm proud of that.
