i think we're misinterpreting a couple things. i agree that "upallnight" is correct when you ONLY replace the old compressor with a new compressor of unknown oil amount - in-fact the TIS states exactly what "upallnight" recommended. so to say do NOT trust what the TIS states is a bit extreme.
what i learned from your diy is - measure how much pag oil is really in the compressor before installing
