Since this has gone political already...
The mortality rate would have been higher... but the number of people hit would have been lower. When looking to inflict damage, it's quantity over quality in
most situations.
I don't know what this guy was thinking, his motives, or his state of mind. You can't legislate the crazy out of people. The gun gives the perpetrator an easy way out as well in the form of a quick trigger pull.
I certainly do not want to disarm the public, but I also don't believe people should have weapons caches either. Some more gun laws will be passed, it's just a matter of how stringent they are.
