Considering you won't need winter tires im betting you could find an xoutpost friend from the north that would help offset the cost of the car a little bit.

Shipping is a bear but I have a friend from southeast Wis that goes to az once or twice a year. Or I figured out a way to save $100 on FedEx (still was $250 ouch)
