Thanks for giving your vehicle info. It helps paint a clearer picture of why some may have #7 & #17...and why some do not.
I wonder how many 4.8is e53 X5s actually came with a full size spare? I thought they got the 19"
compact spare...which could easily accommodate #7 & #17 in the diagram...and as you mentioned...the handle/strap set-up to remove the full size spare isn't necessary if you have the compact/emergency 19" spare.
