I can agree with the above! I had the same problem, turns out BOTH my mirrors had a broken outer housing, (the part where it connects to the base via a cast pin.) mine pushed the pot metal apart, and for kicks I put it in a vice to try push it back in..... FAIL! it broke, fortunately I had the replacements on hand! and now they work perfectly complimentary modification= LED puddle lights
