Don't know if this will help you or not but I've noticed with my Liftmaster I had to press the button on the remote two or three times to get the homelink in the mirror to pick it up, once it did it was fine. Problem for me seemed to be that the remote would transmit for a few seconds and stop, so releasing and pressing again a couple more times gave homelink enough time to sync up. Not a problem since.
