Sound like it's okay the way it is though.


The part is called crankcase control valve and is integrated into the valve cover.




If your engine is N52A, there would be small hose connecting the barb to intake manifold.

If your engine is N52B, the hose is deleted and the valve remains as is. Nothing connects to the barb.

If that barb has some vacuum, the valve is faulty and valve cover must be replaced. (Some owners replace “only the valve”. A fairly easy job when valve cover is off.
