I wasn't clear on the past-tense nature of my statement. I thought I had read the headlight aim used a rear sensor but I realised clearly that's not (perhaps in all cases) the case. Subsequently I've seen the sensor on my wife's right front wheel I think I had to disconnect while changing the front bearing.
