Rotors will warp, but true warping is in fact very rare. The current designs and metallurgy is such that rotors do rather well.
If you read the zeckhausen white paper, it makes it pretty clear.
Here is the other thing about uneven pad deposition: turning the rotors- ostensibly to true them up and eliminate the warp- actually removes the pad deposition, thereby 'fixing' the issue. Likewise replacing the 'warped' rotors also results in a fix. The true cause remains hidden!
Zeckhausen has a piece on "Bedding" the brakes. It works.
