Also, when you are in x5 and press the button from center console then get out to get to hatch, do you close your driver's door BEFORE you get to the trunk/hatch? If so then the wind force inside the x5 actually is what pops the hatch open a bit then it shuts closed and is a function of air pressure and not a timing/mechanical problem with car

Most times I do use the button. Sometimes I just hit the one on the dash before I hop out.
I can't recall if I'm doing it with the door open or not. That's an interesting theory tho.
I will see about adjusting the bump stops too.
