I've been guilty of that in the past.
Had an '03 Hyundai many years ago that kept making noises, which I ignored/put off. Turned out to be the timing belt + interference engine. It finally broke one day driving to work. Guess how that ended. Learned a big lesson, so now I'm
much more proactive than I used to be.
