We have these on our newly acquired '13. They seem very highly rated, and I actually test drove the car in light rain, and was impressed with the braking traction. So the tread compound seems good for wet weather traction..
But a road trip this weekend in heavy rain has me concerned, as several times the car seemed to hydroplane for short moments. The roadway was definitely wet, but I wouldn't say flooded.
First incident happened around 75 mph, so I slowed to around 65 mph and it happened again, and then again around 55...
Has left me a bit unnerved to be honest, so jury is still out for me. I'm wondering if it is just a byproduct of the extreme width of these tires (in other words others aren't going to be significantly better), or the tread pattern (which is close to full depth right now)..
