This is why I chose an LED replacement for my halogen high beam bulbs. The LED fires nearly instantly as opposed to the HID.
I also have stopped using the auto headlight setting because coming in and out of the garage during daylight hours causes additional start up cycles on the HID ballasts and bulbs. IMHO, not a good recipe for HID longevity
