Update to my comments above - just been reading about this exact issue on other forums and in at least one other case (with that exact 1250 code) it WAS faulty injectors. Turn out that leaking injectors cause the rail pressure to drop (not surprising really).

Seems to indicate multiple failed injectors, rather than a single failure.

BTW, leaking injectors don't mean that fuel can be found sitting in pools at the top of the engine exterior (like a few folk appear to think, from some of the comments I read) - the term "leaking injector" refers to an injector that still passes fuel even when closed off by the DDE/DME - in effect it is no longer an injector but a constant flow nozzle, spraying fuel all the time.
