So, I learned to DIY myself. The factory pedal has a C shaped bracket at the top which is wedged in by the panel right above your feet. First step is to remove the 3 phillips screws, then remove the panel just below the steering wheel. Next, the fun part: The good folks at BMW decided to glue the pedal on. Let me rephrase that...they decided to GLUE the pedal on. It's impossible to remove the plastic factory dead pedal without using a single edge box cutter knife underneath the pedal to cut away the glue as you pull the pedal off the carpet. It's going to rip some shreds in the carpet, but don't worry, the new OEM ///M pedal covers that, and you can't see the damage done from cutting away the glue. Once you put the pedal in its place, reinstall the panel above your feet/under the steering wheel, and VOILA!....///M dead pedal. The pedal is pretty secure without glue, especially once you put the floor mat back in, but I may, one day I've got nothing else to do, slather some glue behind it.
