It’s been a while since I looked at the mirror motor stuff, but those divets look big. But I want you to try something. They way these work is the number of clicks that the micro switch gets. There is a chance that the metallic arm on the microswitch is bent out of shape and it doesn’t register the second dip when opening. It may not be falling into the second dip. Bend that arm a bit to make it slightly more sharp. Not too sharp as the arm needs to be able to slide.

So let’s look at your motor pic.
Basically micro switch sits right of green dot when closed. When you hit button to open, mirror starts moving, microswitch is compressed by area with green dot. Hold on left side of green dot is where the micro switch has to fall into to stop motor. If your microswitch arm is not getting in the dip, and letting go of micro button, mirror keeps moving.

Also since you removed motor from mirror, you need to make sure you placed motor back in correctly. If it is wrong, microswitch will not sit in there correctly and never work. You can position motor in there few different ways.
