Transfer Case Chain Experience

Greetings All,

About 3 1/2 years ago (and 60,000 miles) I replaced the transfer case chain on the early 2003 X5 (build of 10/2002, NV 125, non X-drive, 1 blue link chain). I find that I must do this again. All indications are a stretched chain, and not a spline issue, based on sound.

I am using the same chain as prior, Borg-Warner Morse Hy-Lo, 1 blue link. It doesn't seem that 60,000 miles is a reasonable service interval for this task.

What is the experience of other who have done this job? Have you had to redo it? I think I did everything OK the first time but I am open to criticism.

Thanks in advance.
