i tried prying out the old speed sensor today and, of course, it was bonded into the cast housing and broke all to pieces and I ended up carving it out and picking up a new speed sensor that didn't make a difference. Apparently in the wheel baring, there is a magnet the speed sensor picks up instead of gears. I'll check around the reservoir tomorrow. THis is so frustrating. I did replace the brake light bulb though so that's one less thing at least...
