Battery tender for agm battery via jump posts advised?

Hi all ok can see there are other posts here on batteries etc but anyone know if connecting a modern charger to the jump posts in the engine bay to "top up battery" a potential cause of problems with the car sensitive electronics? I read somewhere over 14.4v running through the X5 is not good (please correct me if not the case)

for example the agm mode on my ctek says 14.7V/5.0A, I do have another lower end charger that states agm setting as 14.7v/3.8A which i guess is safer but I am pretty sure I read the 14.4v max somewhere......

Having to take out battery from rear to charge it direct is safer and eliminates the risk but more than a pain in the rear (and back) so the jump posts up front seems to be the only feasible way (apart from the dc llighter socket that I dont want)

Much appreciate a reply from any of the electrical gurus online and there are quite a few , BUT i am not one of em
