Yes it is, but can you swap just the t-stat portion out of an older M62 and place it in the newer housing, will it fit?
Also people are modifying t-stats by heating up the spring with a torch for 45+ seconds to bring the open temp down to the desired temps.

I've got a new one I may try this experiment on and then test it's open temp until I nail it.
