I have a 2007 Rav 4 that has required almost no repair other than oil change and brakes.
It has over 100,000 and running strong. My E61 also has over 100,000 miles and required much more repair, water pump, intake value cleaning, rear hatch, and now value cover gasket. I still like my german E61 and thinking about a M550.
We have a same generation Rav4 in our family, purchased new. Total piece of junk. Wheels are rusting from regular use, muffler formed a hole from rust, door latch failed so now every time the passenger door is shut it makes a really loud pop, motor burns oil, water pump, etc, etc, etc. Pedals in that Rav feel like they are from a tractor... my own personal experience with that car...
