Oh, I've had it more than a couple times for sure

Couple times = new trans.

18 months after new trans, it was due to the trans temp sensor. New wire harness resolved

I can't remember but when the gas pedal went bad, it triggered that as well or CEL. Anyhow, for sure it went into limp mode too.
