You will not be unhappy with the X5/6M. I love mine. Plenty of power, nice refinement, plenty of room to haul junk around (more in the x5m of course). I have no kids, so I can get away with it.
The only gripe i have is limited mods. It's hard to find simple things like lips and rear diffusers for decent prices, they're quite inflated over the m3/m5 cars. And less to choose from.
I don't regret my X6M, but I do wish it was manual.

The sadistic side in my would like to keep both the X5M and the M5... but really I'd like to get the total car-count down to three including the wife's Cayenne GTS.
Mine is the SMG 7-speed (which is really the transmission that car was meant to have) and I've had my share of traditional manual transmissions so I kinda like having an automated manual gearbox that the wife can drive as well.
I think this summer I'll pull the trigger and let the M5 go in favor of the X5M. That way I can also sell the ML430 I've been using as a winter car / grocery hauler and keep my 350Z for the fun factor. That car has been so good to me since 2004 that I can't bear to sell it.
I was thinking of limiting my search to 2013's with low miles, any reason to consider the 2010-2012 models as well? Any reason not to?
Thanks again for the insight!
