So the second sensor wired to the IKE drives the gauge but the warning comes from the DME/DDE via CAN bus... so to test this we need to futz with the engine temp sensor and not the gauge temp sensor, to convince the DME/DDE that the engine is overheating... sounds a bit dodgy..
