Count yourself lucky to get a refund at all - that whole refund deal is pretty much only the USA - pretty much anywhere else in the world it's "caveat emptor" and you own the item the moment you walk out the store with it (or it's shipped).
Faulty goods aside of course...
Almost no retailer over here would offer any form of refund and no one would ask for one - you buy it, you own it. Makes you consider your purchases rather carefully...
